When we arrived at Ndali Lodge in the Port Fortal area of Uganda, all my troubles fell away. Ndali Lodge has the most beautiful setting overlooking Lake Nyinhambuga.
This lodge provides a main thatched lodge with spacious sitting room, reception area and dining room situated along 9 solar-powered stone cottages providing luxurious accommodation for 16 guests. With the cottages facing west, there is a perfect panoramic view of the incredible surrounding scenery.
Shortly after arriving, we were taken on a tour of the grounds to see the incredible Eden-like garden and to see their coffee, vanilla, cacao, avocado, three types of bananas, corn, herbs and SO much more!
With an organic garden and incredibly fertile land full of nutrients, this made the ingredients and recipes throughout our time so abundant and fabulous. Imagine avocado toast, banana bread, homemade soups, fresh croissants, and so many more specialties from the chefs! And if you are gluten free – you get your own breads, which are so delicious.
Along with enjoying the beautiful scenery and fresh food, Ndali Lodge is a great place for chimpanzee tracking. Just a short journey to Kanyanchu Park Headquarters, you can spend the morning tracking beautiful chimpanzee families as they swing from the branches in their natural habitat. It is truly an experience like no other!
An added bonus to this already spectacular lodge is their partnership with the community surrounding the lodge. Along with providing employment and development opportunities, Ndali Lodge also provides sponsorship for students from preschool through to university!
