Located in the northeast outskirts of Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda and next to Lake Kikorongo, Elephant Plains Lodge is the intersection of luxury and nature.

Sitting at 941 meters above sea level, this 80 acre property features breathtaking views of Uganda’s most famous national park. This lodge has 6 suite cottages and 2 family cottages, all connected to a private deck with a 270 degree view of the park. And if you are wondering where the name comes from, the view of countless elephants drinking from the lake should answer that question for you.
Elephant Plains is known for their luxury and views but valued for their nature consciousness. All buildings are made from locally sourced materials and completely solar powered to reduce the impact their lodge has on the environment.

The lodge is complete with an outdoor pool, stunning garden, lounge, and full restaurant. While all the accommodations make this the perfect relaxing getaway, the lodge’s location makes adventuring incredibly convenient. A 10 minute drive brings you to Queen Elizabeth National Park’s gate where your opportunities to explore are bountiful.
Different sectors of Queen Elizabeth National Park are home to different wildlife.

To see hundred of Ugandan Kobs, head to the northern sector, Kasenyi Plains, also known as the “Kobs Mating Ground.” Wildlife viewing on the Mweya Peninsula is where you can find leopards, large herds of elephants, waterbucks, hippos, and more.

To see chimpanzees head to Kyambura Wildlife Reserve on the northeast end of the park. The landscape here is equally as captivating as the wildlife with a gorge 100 meters deep and 16 kilometers wide. To find a tropical rainforest, walk through one of Uganda’s largest forests in Maramagambo. Here you will come across different species of primates as well as a bat cave home for thousands of Egyptian Fruit Bats and a few pythons. Blue Lake is also nearby, receiving its very fitting name from the bright blue color of the water.

If you are wanting to switch it up from the game drives and walking trails, try a boat safari on Kazinga Channel where you will find the world’s largest concentration of hippos. Or maybe explore the crater lakes that were formed by volcanic activity thousands of years ago. Finally, if you want to cross off a bucket list item you must walk across the equator which you can find marked by two large circles in the park.
Elephant Plains Lodge provides spectacular game viewing and wildlife experiences while ensuring a luxurious stay complete with great food, service, and personal touches.
