Overlooking a private crater lake where the sun sets just behind the mountains, sits Ndali Lodge in Kibale Forest. Situated in one of the most stunning parts of Uganda, this lodge is the perfect oasis to explore and enjoy the beauty of Africa.

Ndali Lodge is composed of a main villa, complete with a beautiful lounge, dining area, and bar, as well as 8 grass-thatched cottages all made from locally sourced materials. The cottages are equally as luxurious as the main villa with an en-suite bathroom and veranda that has panoramic views of the Rwenzori Mountains, also known as the ‘Mountains of the Moon.’

If you think this lodge is spectacular, just wait until you learn about all the adventures that surround it! Some say this is the perfect base to visit popular attractions in Uganda.

The location of this lodge is close to perfect with relatively easy access to both Kibale National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park. Kibale National Park is less than an hour from Ndali Lodge and is the place to trek as it has the largest concentration of Chimpanzees in Africa, along with different primates, 325 species of birds, and butterflies. The drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park is a bit further, just shy of two hours, but it’s well worth it being Uganda’s most famous national park. It will also provide you with a once in a lifetime experience of seeing climbing lions. Climbing lions are only found in Uganda and Tanzania and even then, can only be found in select national parks.

If you are looking to stay closer to camp, Ndali Lodge offers many activities right on site. The property sits on an impressive 1,000 acre estate, 100 of which are used for banana plantations, coffee terraces, and tea plantations. Local guides are ready to take you on a tour of these grounds or you are welcome to explore them on your own as well. If you are looking for more relaxing accommodations, this lodge also allows you to simply enjoy the beauty of its surrounding environment. The crater lake has more than just breathtaking views, it also allows for many activities such as swimming, canoeing, and paddleboarding. Within the lodge itself, are all the things necessary for a good pamper: an outdoor pool, sauna, and a full service spa that is ready to spoil you whenever you desire.

Ndali is more than just a tourist attraction though, they are also heavily involved in their community. They hold many partnerships within the community, provide employment opportunities, and are large advocates for education. Ndali Lodge sponsors over 20 students, ages ranging from preschool to university, to get their education and even built a nursery school for their community back in 2013 called Aunt Susan’s Nursery.
