Have you always wanted to take an international trip focused around food and wine? Well there is no better place to go to satisfy your hungry (or thirsty) palate than one of the world’s most renowned food and wine destinations: Cape Town, South Africa. And this May is the perfect time to go. Why? Well, The Good Food and Wine Show, of course!
Showcasing some of the world’s most celebrated master chefs, innovative international cuisines, and, of course, exceptional wines from around the world, The Good Food and Wine Show has made a name for itself in the cuisine and wine world after its premier launch more than 10 years ago. And each year this annual event becomes even more exciting and diverse than years past.
Below I’ve outlined some of the unique events and eclectic elements that this magnificent show will feature:
Meet The Culinary Masters of the World: Joining The Good Food and Wine Show will be none other than the extremely talented Cake Boss, Buddy Valastro, as well as Whitney Miller, Reza Mahammad, and Ariana Bundy. All of these chefs will be taking part in the Chefs in Action Theater, where they’ll demonstrate in front of guests how to craft some of their signature dishes. And if you’ve ever watched any of these celebrity chefs on TV, you know just how hilarious and captivating they can be!
You can even spend the night in VIP style by purchasing a ticket to the MTN Media Lounge, which opens up for ticket holders one hour prior to the Chefs in Action Theater event. Here, you can enjoy pre-event refreshments and light eats while mingling with some of the celebrity chefs before they take the stage.

Get Your Hands Dirty: If simply watching celebrity chefs craft their mouth-watering dishes isn’t enough stimulation for you, why not take a small-group cooking class with them to really immerse yourself into the cooking experience? The Get Fresh with BBC Lifestyle Hands-On Workshops are designed to bring guests into a closer setting with the guest chefs and learn within a small-group setting (each workshop is comprised of no more than 12 individuals, making the experience intimate and personable). The workshop even includes an apron that you can keep as a souvenir!
If You’re A Chocoholic: Find pure chocolate heavenly bliss at the Lindt Chocolate Appreciation Theater. Here, you’ll witness chocolate-making workshops, taste delectable treats such as macaroons, ganache, and nougat, discover traditional Swiss chocolate recipes, and even witness the famous chocolatier, Dimo Simatos, offer expert tips on chocolate making.
It’s also important to note that it’s absolutely possible to overdose on chocolate, so consider yourself warned!
Eat Like the Healthiest A-Listers: At the Good for You Theater, chef Ariana Bundy—who has cooked for top celebrities such as Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt, and Nicole Kidman—demonstrates some of her most delectable and nutritious recipes in front of audience members. There will also be workshops hosted by nutritionists who will discuss how to make mall changes in your lifestyle and diet for a healthier and happier life.
Let the Wines Flow: A new feature to The Good Food and Wine Show, From The Vine Theater features wine makers from various world-class South African wine estates, including Howard Booysens, made famous from the series, Exploring the Vine. Theater goers will discover where wine fits into the culture of South Africa, as well as renowned history throughout the country.
Some of the other featured events include the Amarula Cocktail Experience, Foods from Around the World, and CBeebies Good Food for Kids.
